Almost as good as my French Canadian Grandmother's!
Tastes just like tourtière on Christmas Eve for the réveillon tradition. Only thing that would make it perfect imo is chunkier meat.
Glad you liked it! Thanks so much for the feedback, Nick :)

Thank you for pre-ordering options
It really helps take the stress off the holidays getting the email to remind me to pre-order for my holiday tourtiere!
You are so welcome, Shanay! And thank YOU for subscribing to the newsletter. Everybody wins when there's pie in the mix :)

Gob smacked by Pie Hole
Sweet and savoury pies are all delish. We’ve had the tourtiere for Christmas Eve several times and it never disappoints.
Do I smell a tradition? ;) Thanks so much for the review, Heather.
Flaky crust delicious filling
I ordered the tourtiere hand pies and they were quite a hefty size and ver filling. As usual crust was amazing. My family thought the filling could use more flavour, but I loved it. Tasted just like the tourtiere I’ve had in Quebec.
Glad you liked it Yasmin :)

Our first taste from the Pie Hole. Apple pie was seasoned to perfection with a beautiful filling blended of sweet and tart along with a light long finish of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg. Tourtiere was made of a nicely spiced filling with an outstanding flaky yummy crust. We’ll be ordering again!
2 for 2! Thanks so much Toby :)
Tourtière has been a long time family tradition for Christmas Eve. This was our first time ordering from The Pie Hole and you did not disappoint! The pies were hearty and delicious, just the right spices! Will look forward to trying other pies!
Fantastic! The gateway has been opened ;) Thanks for the review Barb.

Mixed, but not bad!
In terms of flavour, we enjoyed this pie. My French-Canadian husband felt it tasted a lot like creton. The texture was a bit different than he/we are used to, it us a lot finer than we have had in the past. Not sure we would repeat this one, but we would like to try some other pies here.
Thanks for the review Becky :)

For the meatatarians, a really meaty pie! The spice blend is very tasty.
Thanks Gabriela :)
Perfectly spiced, this pie makes me so happy. I'm glad that it's available year round and not just the holidays. :)
It started as a holiday-only pie, but you guys are so demanding that we caved haha. Thanks for the review S :)

Saw the shop on Triple D. The 30 kilometer drive was worth it. We have tried three different pies so far and all were great.
Awesome! I'm so glad the journey was worth it, Mike! Thanks a bunch for the review :)

My mother in law made this every year for Christmas Eve dinner. I have never been able to make it very well and now I don’t have to! The Pie Hole version is amazing, delicious and perfection!
Awesome! No fuss, no muss, and a tasty Tourtiere on us ;P Happy to help, Susan!

Very Meaty Tourtiere
I couldn't believe how jammed full of meat this pie was! You don't need a big slice to get your daily allowance -- a little bit goes a long way. Good value.
It's the gift that keeps on giving! Thanks Christine :)

Nice but not great
As a huge fan of your pies so far, although mostly for other people I decided to try your tourtière.
After tasting a friend’ home made tourtière in Montreal and loving it and then rediscovering here at Cafe de Salade de Fruits I decided to try it from TPH. It was $10 more expensive than CSdeF but sadly, not nearly as good. It seemed quite fatty and the seasoning was the only flavour. The best part was the always incredibly delicious pastry. I don’t plan on buying this again.
Hope this feedback is useful and received in the spirit it is meant.
Thanks for the feedback Jayne :) Because Tourtiere is not as common as say Banana Cream or Apple, and tends to have stronger ties to holidays/tradition, those familiar with it have often only ever been exposed to a single version. This leads to some polarized experiences (and reviews). I welcome all the opinions, though, as it gives me more chance to see patterns and might help guide customers in their decision making. So thanks again :)

Flaky crust, wonderfully seasoned meat, what's not to love?! Highly recommend leaving it to rest for 15mins before eating it.
Thanks KB! Great tip. Appreciate the review :)

A good pie
This pie was loaded with filling and the crust was amazing as always. It was a little too savoury for my husband and I though, not sure if it was the sage or the thyme we would have preferred a little less. Look forward to the next pie!
Thanks for the feedback, Michelle. Glad you liked it :)

This was by far the best tourtiere I've had. I have bought a lot from different stores in Vancouver. Very savory, lots of meat and flavor. I generally do not like pie crust as they are pasty, but this one made me realize what a good crust is like. Thank you for making such a good product. This will be my go to pie shop.
Fantastic! So glad to hear it was a winning experience, Tim :)

Yet another winner!!
Tried out the Tourtiere for the first time on Dec 23rd, and it was DELICIOUS! Will definitely be making it into my Christmas traditions list for the years I'm in Vancouver going forward. Thanks! (And the assorted holiday mini pies were excellent too!!)
Gotta say. The cooks really out did themselves this year. I will definitely be passing along your nice review! Thanks so much, Andrea.

Please include reheating instructions
The pie was utterly delicious! My only complaint (and I have experienced this in the past, too) is that you have that handy little table on the box where you can fill in the temp and time to reheat, but you don’t seem to use it. It would be incredibly helpful if you could.
Great point, Melanie. It is easy for staff to forget to write in (especially when it gets busy), but it is definitely important info. Remember, you can always search for your pie in the 'Baking and Serving' section of our website to get the heating/warming directions. Appreciate the comment.

Delicious Tourtiere Pie
For the first time we tried your Tourtiere and it was absolutely wonderful! The filling had a unique blend of spices with the beef/pork filling and the crust simply melted in the mouth. A refreshing change from Holiday turkey/chicken.

Absolutely Authentic Delicious Tourtiere!
Having left the east a few years ago, I found myself having a huge craving for tourtiere over the past few weeks. I was looking for Quebec shops that would ship frozen ones to Vancouver when I noticed the Pie Hole were selling them. Oh happy day!! I ordered the five frozen handheld ones and was very pleased to find they were just as good as I remembered from home! I hope to purchase more before they go out of season! So glad to be able to get them locally. Thank you so much for the delicious pies!!!
Wow, that's so great to hear Marcia! I'm thrilled we are able to give you a little taste of home :)

Just Like Grandma’s...
My grandma was French Canadian and use to make traditional Quebecois Tortiere Pies every Christmas. She passed away when I was a teenager almost 20 years ago. I have had many pies since then, but this is the closest to Grandma’s. It is absolutely delicious and authentic. Well done The Pie Hole. Well done.
Zaaaack...thank you so much for your kind words! It is a big deal being considered comparable to someone's traditional family recipe as there are often strong, happy memories in the mix. Your praise means a lot! Thanks again :)
Tourtiere was delicious!
The taste of the tourtiere was excellent! The all spice really came through with the meat and gave it a really nice aroma. I'm a big crust guy and I find a lot of the pies always skimp out on the crust, leaving the pies sloppy. But this crust really held it together and kept the flakey/buttery texture. Love it. Will definitely be ordering from Pie Hole again!
No doubt. To protect and serve the filling while keeping it in line. Double Butter Crust knows it has a job to do, and it does it well ;) Glad you liked the Tourtiere, Mark! Thanks for the review.
Delicious! A perfect spiced balance, great deep pie. Enjoyed by all.
Wonderful! Thanks for the review Mary :)

I can't decide if I prefer the tourtiere hot or cold. More research is needed. Yummy, yummy research.
We support your academic pursuits and our testing materials are at your disposal :) Thanks Megan.
Une Tourtière très Québécoise!
This is one of the best tourtières that I have had in a long time. Very authentic. The crust is flaky and buttery. The filling is perfectly spiced and seasoned with quality ingredients. A definite wintery comfort food.
Mais oui! Our Tourtière is the realest deal that ever dealt! Thanks for the appreciation, GemGirl :)
A great pie
I loved the tourtiere! I had a french friend whose dad made tourtiere and I feel this was just as good. I love it has no potatoes and is pure meat. I feel like when potatoes are added the maker is just being cheap. Great job!
Thanks, Christina! I like to think your friend's father would be proud of us both ;) Appreciate the review.

A tasty tourtiere
The tourtiere was nicely seasoned, the filling wasn't dry when reheated and the crust was flaky and buttery! It was a perfect dish to have on cold, rainy Vancouver day.

Great addition to the Christmas Dinner!
I was invited to Christmas Dinner at a neighbor and as one of her guests was from Quebec, she asked me to try and find a Toutiere for dinner and after some research decided to order a bakeaway from The Pie Hole. I used their online platform, which is very easy to navigate and full of useful information. The selection of pies is quite remarkable, both sweet and savoury, which can be ordered frozen unbaked or baked. I opted for frozen. Both the website and the package provide baking instructions.
I baked the Toutiere for the suggested 120 minutes from frozen and served it from the oven. It was excellent and passed muster with our Québécois guest! Nicely flavoured filling, good quality ingredients and wonderful pastry crust!
Besides the 9” Toutiere for our Christmas Dinner, I also ordered smaller 5” pies - a Chicken Pot Pie, a Beef Bourguignon Pie and a Turkey Dinner Pie. Both the Chicken Pot Pie and the Beef Bourguignon Pie were excellent, but I did not enjoy the Turkey Dinner Pie, despite it being a Staff Pick. There was nothing wrong with it, but it was not to my taste.
While The Pie Hole products are not inexpensive, the quality is there and I will be back for those special occasions!
I highly recommend The Pie Hole!
Mike! Thank you so much for taking the time to craft a thorough and sincere review!! I know people appreciate the info/opinions, and I definitely appreciate the feedback. I am so glad the Tourtiere got the nod from your Quebecois guest (a high compliment). Whenever you are ready for one of our other pies, we'll be around ;)

Delicious! Purchased the fresh pie...baked the day after pick up. The flavour of the seasoned meat was very good and the amount of the meat filling was plentiful. We had the leftovers 2 nights later and it reheated easily...did not dry out...equally good as first night! Would order again.
Thanks for the review, Darlene. So great that reheating did not dry it out! Hope to see you next time :)

We ordered a small mince pie and a 9" Tourtière - both were tasty pies. Flavours were spot on, a good amount of spice. I especially liked the citrus-forward flavours in the mince pie which helped to counter the sweetness. I would order both again especially the Tourtière (seasonal) it was packed with meat that was juicy and moist...yum!
Thanks for the review, Kristina. Tourtiere and Christmas Mince make a great one-two dinner punch!

Thanks, Alison! Tourtiere will be here a little while longer, so don't let it slip you by til next Christmas!
Ordered 2 Tourtieres online and picked up at Fraser location. Served the Pie on Christmas, twice! Once as contribution to Christmas potluck brunch and again that evening for dinner for 8 at our home. Both sets of eaters loved the Pie. Perfectly spiced. Pastry is light and fluffy. Thanks.
Thanks for the review, Jane! The Tourtiere is always in high demand once we roll it out. I'm so glad everyone got to try some :)

Juste comme au Quebec!
I wanted to get my family a Quebecois Christmas dinner and these tourtières did the trick. The filling tasted just like I remember the tourtieres (fragrant and tasty), growing up in Montreal, and the flaky pie shells were a bonus. Thumbs up from around the dinner table.
Nice!! Our Tourtiere satisfied a table of Quebecers?! Absolute win! Thanks so much, Q. Doan.

Our family really enjoyed the Tourtiere! I’m ordering a second and would love to see these offered year round.
Thanks for the review, Corina. I am so glad your family digs the Torty.
...but if we served it year round it would stop being special! hmmm...we'll see ;)
Reminds me so much of the flavour and flaky crust of my Mum's homemade Tourtiere. Ordering another right now.
I've said it before: If our pies stack up against your family's own traditional version, with all it's positive family vibes, that is truly the highest compliment. Appreciate your comment so much, Patricia. Happy Holidays :)
